BUK To Establish A Health Research Centre

A
multi-disciplinary Centre of Research Excellence in Health System and Education is to be established in Bayero University, after reaching an accord with the Sheffield University, U.K through the Department of Community Medicine.

The Centre which is expected to take off soon will serve as a strategic health avenue for x-raying real health problems and developing innovative solutions.

SUG Public Lecture

The Reform and Transition Steering Assembly (RTSA) of the Student Union Government and the Student Affairs Division invite the General Public to a Lecture on Student Unionism in Nigeria.

The Public Lecture will take place as follows:
Topic: Student Unionism in Nigeria: Past, Present and Future.

Speakers:

1) Dr. Dipo Fashina, Department of OAU, Ife, and past National President, ASUU.

2) Dr. Abdullahi Sule-Kano, Department of Political Science, UDUS, Sokoto and past National President, ASUU.

Department of Agronomy Postgraduate Seminar

The Department of Agronomy, Bayero University, Kano is inviting members of the University community to its Postgraduate seminar scheduled as follows:

Topic: ‘Effect of Moringa (Moringa oleifera Lam.) Extract and Nitrogen Rates on the Performance of Maize and Sesame in Kano, the Sudan Savanna Ecological Zone of Nigeria’.

Call For Memoranda

T
he RTSA has set up constitutional Amendment Committee, which is vested with the responsibility of looking into the suspended Constitution of SUG with a view to addressing the problems therein. This is to make it up to date and devoid of its short coming.

The committee hereby calls for memorandum from all students, so that they can help in identifying the provision(s) to be amended.

Review of School Uniform for 2011/2012 session

This is to inform parents that the Management has made the following review for the 2011/2012 session.

i) The colour of the uniform remains the same, i.e. navy blue and sky blue.
ii) Footwear is now black shoe with white socks for girls and boys.
iii) Badge is compulsory.
iv) Boys: buttoned shirts with trousers and black belts.
v) Girls: Three-quarter-length blouses with trousers and head scarves.
Hijab to be worn exclusively by Muslims.

BUK Organizes Dinner For CASSON Members

As part of its enormous contributions towards ensuring a successful International Conference and to maintain its hospitable and generous gesture, Bayero University on Tuesday organized a befitting dinner for all the participants of the 35th Annual Conference of the Counseling Association of Nigeria (CASSON), who came from many Universities in Nigeria at the Chinese Hungfu Restaurant.
